Mother's Day '08

I'm so blessed. I had the best Mother's Day today. Last night, Ed spent what seemed like forever in the kitchen cooking a meal that we would take on a picnic today after church. We had fried chicken, okra, potato salad (homemade), and bean salad. It was GREAT! We didn't go to the park as planned, because we had thunderstorms early this morning, and the grounds were still soggy. So we improvised and picniced at the table next to our pool. It was nice! I also made banana brownies (Yummy and a great use for overripe bananas). Get the recipe here.
My hubby ordered me a watch ,which didn't get here on time. But he did give me a $50 gift certificate to this place. I also got these beautiful flowers and card (that plays music). My kids were great! I love being a mom!

  1. Kim,
I love checking up on the Ketusky's even though I see you around. Your family seems to be a haven for your children. I can hear your sweet southern voice telling your stories. Thanks for sharing!

  2. thanks for that recipe! I have several overripes that need to be used...guess I'll be baking today.

Keep your prayers strong - there is a GOOD possibility that we may get sent to Ft. Jackson next summer! There are 3 slots open (Ft. Gordon, Ft. Jackson, Ft. Knox). We can't have Gordon again (though I'd LOVE it), and the guy from Ft. Knox is coming HERE, so that means there'd be no overlap at Knox...so the chances are good that we could go to Jackson. Only thing would be if one of the other guys wants it - they've both been deployed and of course, THAT gives them privilege over us (even though Scott OUTRANKS one of them).
