Reality shows, the zoo, and a chicken recipe (long post)

On this rainy day in SC, just thought I'd share some more zoo photos, and my thoughts on a couple of reality shows I'm keeping track of. My 81 year old grandmother and I both watch The Bachelor, and then we chat about it within the next day or so. Interesting episode this past week. I was surprised, as many were, that Jillian was sent packing. Now I'm more convinced than ever that he will pick Molly. Lots of folks think it will be Melissa, but I don't. It's usually who you don't think he'll pick. He seemed really into Molly in the earlier episodes, but not so much lately. I think that's creative editing...so that we think he won't pick her. Well, we'll find out in a few weeks. I'm just wondering what Deanna's role is in all this.
Did you watch American Idol last night? Only a few were impressive. And some of those 12 couldn't carry a tune in a bucket once they got a band behind them. Hoping for some better stuff tonight.
Sorry, but this is not a photo of the Bachelor. THIS is my handsome hubby!

This is the waterfall at Chimp Island.

Nice zoom on the flamingo!

Wow he has long eyelashes, doesn't he?

In the scrapbooking world, this is called a perfect visual triangle! LOL!

Jonathan certainly was into the zoo spirit of things...making a beak out of dried leaves!

A massive hand for sure....

...that belongs to this big guy!

And finally, a dash of color!

Not that these birds remind me of chicken or anything, but I wanted to share another recipe with you. Sorry I don't have a photo to go with it.
Last night I got raves from my family for this dish.
I actually took a recipe that I got from our church cookbook that was meant for a crock pot. I changed it up and made it my own.

Kim's Creamy Chicken

1 Four-pack of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
garlic salt
black pepper,
1/2-1/4 c reduced fat sour cream
1 can of cheddar cheese soup (condensed kind)
1 can of cream of chicken soup

I simply sprinkled garlic salt and black pepper on chicken pieces, spread each piece with sour cream and laid them into a casserole dish that had been sprayed with Pam. I then mixed the two cans of soup in a bowl and poured them over the chicken. I baked it in the oven for 30-35 minutes. I started out at 350 degrees, but after 15 minutes, I increased it to 375. At any rate....the chicken turns out moist and has the best gravy with it. It is awesome with rice and a green vegetable. Even my kids LOVED this chicken. Let me know if you try it!

  1. okay, that chicken/bird comment made me laugh! It sounds yummy, but I doubt my kiddos will eat it...Hannah doesn't eat anything cheesy. Scotty would probably try it, in any case. Did you ever try my Parmesan chicken recipe in the Creek's cookbook?

Your pictures were fantastic! The waterfall came out pretty darned good for being a handheld shot. Your shutter was open for close to a full second on that...good hands!
